554 Miss de Valera asked the Minister for Justice the measures, if any, in place to ensure that a tourist shooter is indeed the owner of the firearm listed in the firearm certificate; and if checks are made to ensure that the serial number on the firearm corresponds to that on the firearm certificate. The granting of firearm certificates to tourist shooters is the subject, inter alia, of current legal proceedings. It would, therefore, be inappropriate for me to comment, as the matter is sub-judice.
