Vol. 469 No. 5

Written Answers. - River Suir Flooding.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

88 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Finance the current position regarding the investigation into the cause of flooding of the River Suir in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17833/96]

The Commissioners of Public Works have commissioned a firm of consultants to investigate and outline options for dealing with the flooding in the vicinities of Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary and to recommend for approval a flood relief scheme(s) for these towns. The consultants preliminary report is expected early next year.
