Vol. 470 No. 4

Written Answers. - Deer Hunting Licence.

Tony Gregory

Question:

126 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the terms of the licence issued to the Ward Union Stage Hunt. [19254/96]

Section 26 (1) (ii) of the Wildlife Act, 1976, provides that a licence is required to hunt deer by a pack of stag hounds. The last such licence issued to the Ward Union Stag Hunt in October 1988. Since then, the hunt has made no further applications nor has any further licence been issued to them under section 26 (1) (ii) of the Wildlife Act, 1976.
