Vol. 470 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ringsend (Dublin) Sewage Treatment System.

Eoin Ryan

Question:

138 Mr. E. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment if he intends to put an underground sewage treatment system in Ringsend, Dublin 4, similar to that proposed for Mutton Island. [19061/96]

Waste water treatment plants are, for the most part, constructed substantially below ground level and are designed, among other things, to minimise visual intrusion. The proposed plant at Ringsend will be provided by way of a design and build contract. It will be a matter for tenderers to engineer solutions to fit the site.
