Question:

155 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice the number of ban gardaí per division in each of the years from 1990 to 1995. [20508/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 153 and 155 together.

I understand from the Garda authorities that a divisional breakdown of the number of female members in the Force for the period in question is not readily available and could not be obtained without an inordinate expenditure of Garda personnel time which could not be justified. The number of gardaí, all ranks, and the total number of female members in each of the years from 1990 to 1996 is as follows:

Year (31 December)

Total Garda Strength
