Vol. 471 No. 4

Written Answers - Sheep Headage and Ewe Premia.

Michael Ring

Question:

264 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a decision will be made on 1996 sheep headage and ewe premia in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that his Department promised four weeks ago that a decision would be made by now. [20937/96]

The headage and premia appeals unit advised the Deputy on 9 October 1996 that assuming all relevant facts had been received they expected to be in a position to respond with a decision in the next three to four weeks. Further clarification in respect of the appeal was sought from the herdowner and correspondence was received on 5 November 1996. This material is now being considered by the appeals unit and there will be no undue delay in issuing a decision in the case to the herdowner.
