266 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry whether the premia due to be paid on 1 November 1996, as stated in reply to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 208 and 209 of 8 October 1996, have been paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21016/96]

In my reply to questions from the Deputy on 8 October 1996 I indicated that payment of the special top-up on 1996 sheep headage of £2 per hogget ewe and £1 per mountain breeding ewe would commence by early November. I can now confirm that payment of the top-up referred to has commenced.
