142 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education if she will provide up-to-date information on the progress, if any, made towards providing a sports hall for Pobalscoil Iosolde in Palmerstown, Dublin 20; if she supports proposals for a joint venture between the school authorities and Palmerstown Community Council to construct a community centre/sports hall on the available site; if such proposals have been lodged with her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The authorities of Palmerstown community school have submitted proposals to my Department's post-primary building unit involving the joint provision of a sports facility at the school with a local community group.

In October this year, my Department employed the services of an architectural consultancy firm to carry out a feasibility study of this proposal which should be completed within the next few weeks. This study will enable my Department to make a more informed decision on the matter.
