Vol. 472 No. 3

Written Answers. - Early Warning System for Companies.

Ivor Callely

Question:

246 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of firms experiencing difficulties which have availed of his Department's early warning system in each of the years 1995 and 1996; the success or otherwise of this system; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23033/96]

The number of firms included in the early warning system operated by my Department in 1995 and 1996, to end October, was 113 and 64 respectively. As regards the success or otherwise of the system, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 8 of 22 October 1996.
