Brennan asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to alleged fraud at the employment exchange (details supplied) in Dublin 11; the reason, if any, she has to suspect the involvement of paramilitary or other criminal elements in the alleged fraud; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Brennan asked the Minister for Justice whether a Garda investigation was requested or commenced recently into alleged fraud at an employment exchange (details supplied) in Dublin 11 involving over £3 million and thousands of claimants who were alleged to have used incorrect addresses; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1468/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 445 and 446 together.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that no complaint regarding this matter has been received and that no investigation is being carried out.
