Vol. 474 No. 4

Written Answers. - Investigation of Complaint.

Tony Gregory

Question:

126 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the manner in which her Department can arrange to have the serious charges against named gardaí in a written statement (details supplied) investigated; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3337/97]

The person referred to by the Deputy is free to make a complaint under the Garda Síochána Complaint Act, 1986. However, if the Deputy or the person concerned so wishes, arrangements can be made to have the allegations investigated internally by the Garda authorities.
