Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

82 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Taoiseach whether he has received an application from Donegal County Council in respect of a project (details supplied); if so, the current status of the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4124/97]

On foot of the recommendations of the Report of the Interdepartmental Co-ordinating Committee on Island Development, new mechanisms have been established whereby proposals for the development of access and infrastructure on the offshore islands are selected and prioritised by the islands committees of the relevant local authorities. A list of prioritised projects is then submitted to the Interdepartmental co-ordinating committee for assessment and recommendation on funding. The priority list of projects submitted by Donegal County Council does not include a proposal in respect of Inch Island.
