39 Dr. McDaid asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the representations, if any, he has made to the British Government to have the Stone of Scone returned to its rightful place in Tara, County Meath. [25236/96]
The Stone of Scone has been returned to Scotland after an absence of seven hundred years. It was transferred from Westminster Abbey to Edinburgh Castle where it will remain on permanent display. No such representations have been made to the British Government as it is now accepted by most scholars that the Stone of Scone has no direct link with Tara.
