Vol. 475 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Discussions.

Máirín Quill

Question:

146 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Education the discussions, if any, her officials are currently having in private with some of the partners in education; the specific relevance of these discussions; and the private agreements, if any, which have been made. [5674/97]

Officials of my Department engage in consultations and discussions on a range of issues, on a regular formal basis, with the partners in education.

Multilateral and bilateral consultations are also held with the partners on a less formal basis on issues which arise from time to time.
The purpose of these consultations is to address issues on an ongoing basis and not to come to private agreements.
