Vol. 476 No. 4

Written Answers. - Health Capital Programme.

Brendan Smith

Question:

58 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Health the projects, if any, which will be funded under his Department's capital budget allocation to the North-Eastern Health Board in 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7323/97]

Limerick East): As I indicated to the Deputy in my reply of 26 February 1997 the health capital programme for 1997 is not yet finalised in my Department. The intention is that the programme will contain provision for the maximum number of projects in the board's area which it is possible to accommodate within the limit of the resources available. There are a number of projects which are in planning or construction, and provision will be made for these in the 1997 programme. The main projects involved are at Our Lady's Hospital Navan, Louth County Hospital, health centres in Dunshaughlin and Monaghan, and a nursing unit in Drogheda. Various other community facilities will also be provided for to the maximum extent possible.
