189 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of milk quota holders not using their quotas for the 1995-96 milk quota year; and the number of years in each case for which the milk quota has remained unused. [11874/97]

An estimated 9,000 milk quota owners were not themselves involved in milk production in the 1995-96 milk quota year. The information sought in relation to the period for which these quotas have been unused is not available.
