118 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made on proposals from Galway County Council in relation to the operation of the scheme of repairs in lieu of local authority housing, which would expedite the operation of that scheme and enable approved applicants to proceed with planning and other preparatory works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Galway County Council have been notified that their proposals in relation to the administration of the scheme of improvement works in lieu of local authority housing are in conformity with the terms of the scheme, provided that the council retain responsibility for ensuring and certifying that approved works are satisfactorily carried out.
