Question:

137 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of trips made by Irish civil servants in his Department over the past two years on official business to Luxembourg; and the cost of those trips. [17131/97]

Irish civil servants in my Department have made 77 trips on official business to Luxembourg over the past two years at a cost of £46,990.

The 77 trips include nine taken on the Government jet, the cost of which is borne by the Department of Defence.
