Vol. 481 No. 7

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Finucane

Question:

230 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the current status of an application to the Land Registry under section 49, Registration of Title Act, 1964 in relation to a land transfer for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact that the solicitors have responded to the queries raised on 29 September 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16895/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession of the Registration of Titles Act, 1964 which was lodged on 6 May 1997. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49 take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.

I am further informed that notice has been served on 9 October 1997 on all parties whose interests may be affected by the application in so far as such parties can be identified. If no objections are received within one month the case will be considered for completion.
