Vol. 481 No. 7

Written Answers. - Road Traffic Accidents.

Ivor Callely

Question:

231 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of people involved in fatal accidents on Irish roads in each of the years from 1991 to 1996; the total cost of all emergency services' response to such accidents; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16959/97]

Information on all road traffic accidents reported to the Garda authorities is supplied by the Garda to the National Roads Authority who publish a detailed annual report on road accidents.

The information sought by the Deputy in regard to the cost of the emergency services is not available in my Department or to the Garda Síochána.
