Vol. 482 No. 3

Written Answers. - Irish Migraine Association.

Richard Bruton

Question:

209 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will provide funding to the Irish Migraine Association for the running of their recently established headache and migraine clinic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17851/97]

I have received representations on behalf of the Irish Migraine Association regarding the need for a headache and migraine clinic. I understand that the association has also been in communication with Beaumont Hospital on the matter. However, to date I have received no specific proposals from the hospital in this reagard. On receipt of such proposals, they will fall to be considered within the context of the hospital's own priorities and the many competing demands for resources within the acute health sector.
