Vol. 482 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Liam Aylward

Question:

331 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department will have arrangements made to expedite transfer of property to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [18197/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that Dealing No. J968/96 refers to an application under section 49, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Titles Act 1964 which was lodged on 7 February 1996. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49 take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.

I am further informed that queries issued on this dealing to the lodging solicitor on 11 September 1997 and replies are awaited. The queries raised must be satisfactorily discharged before the matter can proceed.

Michael Ring

Question:

332 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will confirm that a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the Land Registry maps (details supplied). [18199/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that there is no record of any application currently pending for the maps identified. If the Deputy can let me have the date of request and any other reference numbers I will have further inquiries made in the matter.
