Vol. 482 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

119 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his headage and premia schemes for 1997 in view of the fact that payment issued in 1996 without delay even though his commonage was not digitised by the area aid unit. [17652/97]

The area aid application of the person named has not yet been cleared to allow payment of headage and premium to him. Every effort is being made to clear all area aid applications, other than a small minority of very intractable cases, by the end of this month so that payment can be made in this and other similar cases during the next four to five weeks.

If the area aid application of the person named is found to be in order, he should be paid both headage and premia within this period.

Question:

120 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his headage and premia for 1997; and if he will give details of the payments which have issued already. [17653/97]

The area aid application of the person named has not yet been cleared to allow payment of headage and cattle premia to him. Every effort is being made to clear all area aid applications, other than a small minority of very intractable cases, by the end of this month so that payment can be made in this and other similar cases during the next four to five weeks.

If the area aid application of the person named is found to be in order, he should be paid both cattle and sheep headage within this period and the advance of his suckler cow premium. The person named was paid the first instalment of his 1997 ewe premium on 8 July 1997.
