Vol. 482 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

John Browne

Question:

461 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, he has to approve the building of an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the ongoing overcrowding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18899/97]

My Department has examined the accommodation needs of the school referred to by the Deputy and accepts that additional accommodation is required. The capital funding available this year is already allocated and it is not possible to take on additional commitments. I can assure the Deputy that the school will be considered in the context of future capital allocations.
