Question:

95 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if a lottery funds grant was approved during 1997 for a club (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if so, the date on which this grant aid was announced; if so, the documentation which issued to this club confirming this allocation; the date this documentation issued; if this grant aid has been drawn down; and the correspondence, if any, which has issued in this regard. The club was informed by letter that it had been allocated a grant under the Sports Capital Programme on 18 July 1997. The necessary information and documentation to enable the grant allocation to be formally approved and payment to be made was received in my Department on 15 October 1997. The full amount of the grant was paid to the club on 31 October 1997 and the club recently acknowledged receipt of same.
