219 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the number and gender break-down of applicants for posts as principal teachers for each county; the number and gender break-down of appointments as principal teachers in primary schools for each county; the number and gender breakdown of appointees as principal teachers for single sex full stream boys' schools, single sex full stream girls' schools, single sex junior boys' schools, single sex junior girls' schools, single sex senior boys' schools, single sex senior girls' schools, full stream co-educational schools with less than four teachers, full stream co-educational schools with between four and eight teachers, full stream co-educational schools with nine or more teachers, junior co-educational schools and senior co-educational schools; and the number and gender breakdown of all principal teachers in this regard. I assume the Deputy is referring to entrants to the full-time courses in these colleges for the training of primary and of post-primary teachers of home economics.

There is a total of 151.5 (wholetime equivalent) staff employed in the inspectorate in my Department — 113.5 male and 38 female.
