297 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a temporary visa, for a period of six months, will be supplied to a person (details supplied) to facilitate a visit to his young daughter and partner who are Irish citizens. [22600/97]

The information conveyed in the Deputy's question was not supplied to my Department when an application for a visa by the person concerned was refused earlier this year. In the circumstances, the best way forward is for a new application to be made supported by the fullest information possible.
