Question:

318 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if her Department and each body under the aegis of her Department have complied with sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997; and the location where the documents required under these sections may be obtained by members of the public. [1250/98]

My Department is currently at an advanced stage in producing publications in compliance with sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997. The Act requires that this task be completed by 21 April 1998. Met Éireann, which is an integral part of my Department, plans to publish its own guides.

None of the State companies for which my Department has responsibility comes within the ambit of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997.

Facilities will be provided in certain premises occupied by my Department where members of the public will be able to inspect and/or obtain information in accordance with the provisions of the Act including the section 15 and 16 publication. Details of these locations will be publicised before 21 April 1998. The documentation will also be available on the Departments website at http://www. irlgov. ie.
