579 Mr. D. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received an application for a national lottery grant from a school (details supplied) in County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1653/98]
An application for national lottery funding was received in my Department from the organisation referred to on 31 December 1997.
I would like to inform the Deputy that when an application for a grant from national lottery funds is received in my Department it is sent to the relevant services division for assessment, evaluation and recommendation. All applications are then considered in the context of the recommendation from the services division and the overall level of funds available.
This application is currently being evaluated and a recommendation will be forwarded to me in due course, together with recommendations in respect of other applications made to my Department for national lottery funding.
