Question:

596 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will give an allocation to the Western Health Board for the provision of a health centre at Roundstone, County Galway. [1971/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 594, 595 and 596 together.

The provision of health centres in the Galway area is a matter for the Western Health Board in the first instance. The position in relation to any specific development is that it will be considered in the context of the capital resources available in 1998 and competing demands. I have not yet made decisions on the allocation of available capital funds for 1998 but I hope to do so in the near future.
