681 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the present position regarding the report submitted to his Department by the inter-departmental working group on strengthening the protection of the architectural heritage; the steps, if any, he intends to take to implement the recommendations of the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Arising out of the report of the inter-departmental working group and the commitments in the Government's programme, An Action Programme for the Millennium, the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands and myself will be bringing a comprehensive package of proposals to Government shortly to address the protection of the architectural heritage.
