Vol. 486 No. 3

Written Answers. - Crime Levels.

Deirdre Clune

Question:

259 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of cars that were stolen in Cork city in the past three years; and the number of these cars that were recovered. [2668/98]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information requested by the Deputy is not readily available in so far as Cork city is concerned and could only be obtained by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of staff time and resources. However, the information is available with respect to the Garda division of Cork east which included Cork city up to 1996.
