Written Answers - School Staffing.

Question:

141 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science the number and type of teachers in the North Monastery A primary school, County Cork on 30 June 1996, 30 June 1997, 1 October 1997 and 1 February 1998. [4446/98]

The staffing levels at the school to which the Deputy refers on the dates in question are as follows: on 30 June 1996 there was a principal, six assistant teachers, a shared disadvantaged area concessionary teacher and a remedial teacher and on all subsequent dates the staffing at the school consisted of a principal, five assistant teachers, a shared disadvantaged concessionary teacher and a remedial teacher.

This staffing was established in accordance with a schedule agreed by my predecessor.

The staffing levels at the school to which the Deputy refers on 30 June 1996, and on all the subsequent dates mentioned by the Deputy, consisted of a principal, ten assistant teachers, a shared disadvantaged area concessionary teacher and a remedial teacher.
