92 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 154 of 3 February 1998, he will set a deadline for the amalgamation of the two cattle societies seeking registration approval. [4509/98]
The proposed amalgamation of the two cattle breed societies referred to in the question is primarily a matter for the organisations themselves and it would not be appropriate for me to set a deadline for the completion of that process. However, I understand that the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society is providing assistance to the two societies in this case and that work on the drafting of rules for the proposed new organisation is well advanced.
