Vol. 487 No. 5

Written Answers - Dental Services.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

106 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have arrangements made to ensure that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12, who needs urgent dental treatment, will not be denied medical attention in view of the fact that his mother has a medical card and he attends an all-Irish primary school where relatives pay the £400 annual fee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4467/98]

As the provision of dental treatment to eligible persons in Dublin 12 is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
