Vol. 489 No. 1

Written Answers. - Remedial Education.

Seán Barrett

Question:

66 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Education and Science the review, if any, he has undertaken of the remedial teaching service; and, if so, whether the terms of reference and findings of the review will be published. [7467/98]

A review of the remedial education service in primary schools is being conducted at present by the Educational Research Centre, Drumcondra. This involves a detailed examination of the remedial education service in a random sample of schools with such a service at primary level.

The data from this review are being processed at present and it is my intention to publish both the terms of reference of the review and its findings when the report becomes available.
