Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

436 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have arrangements made to ensure that persons (details supplied) in County Westmeath are admitted to hospital due to their serious tonsillitis problems. [8865/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
