Vol. 489 No. 7

Written Answers. - FCA Premises.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

122 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Defence the funding, if any, included in his 1998 departmental budget for the refurbishment of FCA premises; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9316/98]

FCA premises fall into three categories, namely, State owned, full-time rented, and part-time rented. The majority are rented for part-time use, while a small number are full-time rented. My Department would repair any damage done to these premises arising from occupation. With regard to state owned FCA premises, refurbishment is carried out as resources permit and with due regard to competing priorities. In recent times, storm damage repairs were carried out to premises in Lahinch, Dungarvan and Cork. In addition repairs and refurbishment were undertaken at Ennis and Boyle FCA posts. Refurbishment was also carried out at Gormanston, Limerick, Macroom and Midleton in recent years.
