Written Answers - Cross-Border Roads.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

101 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the position in relation to a road opening (details supplied) in County Donegal. [9898/98]

I am aware of the Deputy's concern that the section of this road which lies in Northern Ireland has not yet been fully opened. I fully understand her concern and frustration, and that of the local residents in County Donegal, at the delay in resolving this matter.

Since my previous reply to the Deputy, I have had this matter raised again with the British authorities through the Anglo-Irish Secretariat. While I have been advised that the matter remains unresolved, I intend to continue to pursue it in the period ahead. I will write to the Deputy if circumstances change in any way.
