Vol. 490 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Question:

174 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 will receive an appointment for an operation in view of the fact that she has been on the waiting list for a year and is suffering great dis-comfort as a result. [11138/98]

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the responsibility of St. James's Hospital in the first instance. I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of St. James's Hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
