Vol. 490 No. 7

Written Answers. - Garda Investigations.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

212 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the circumstances and nature of a recent gas cylinder release attack which took place in a night club (details supplied) in Dublin 1; whether the culprit has been apprehended; if he will give details of those injured in the attack; if he will allay the expressed fears of many people that a dangerous and reckless attack could happen again; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11276/98]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the incident in question is currently under investigation. In the circumstances, it would not be appropriate to make any further comment in the matter other than to say that the managers of similar premises in the area have been advised by the Garda to be vigilant.
