Vol. 491 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

180 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children when the necessary surgery for the removal of a brain tumour will be carried out on a person (details supplied) in County Donegal in view of the fact that she has been awaiting admission to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9, for over 12 months and her illness is causing personal and family hardship. [12829/98]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of Beaumont Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of Beaumont Hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
