181 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when persons (details supplied) in County Mayo will be helped under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme in view of the fact that they applied for assistance over a year ago; and the length of time they can expect to wait for help. [12830/98]
As the Deputy is aware, the housing aid scheme for the elderly in the Mayo area is administered by the Western Health Board on behalf of the Department of the Environment and Local Government.
I have asked the Chief Executive Officer of the Western Health Board to investigate this case as a matter of urgency and respond directly to the Deputy with the board's fundings.
