299 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps, if any, he has taken to make the large number of non-lecturing staff in a college (details supplied) in County Sligo permanent, in view of the fact that they have been employed there for numerous years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has recently initiated discussions with management representatives from the college in question. The purpose of those discussions is to facilitate the conclusion, as speedily as possible, of a PCW agreement between college management and staff including the conversion of relevant posts to permanent positions. I am hopeful that the matter will be resolved shortly.
