199 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the release date for a person (details supplied) in view of the fact that he recently informed relatives that his release date would be October 1999 and, when he was being transferred from abroad, the letter of transfer indicated that his time in prison would not extend beyond 31 July 1999; and if he will give him one day temporary release. I am aware of the person to whom the Deputy refers but it is long standing practice not to comment on the case of an individual prisoner and I do not propose to make an exception to that practice in this instance. I will say, however, that any confusion there might have been concerning the date of release of the person concerned has been resolved.
