Vol. 492 No. 1

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

David Stanton

Question:

223 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation further to Parliamentary Question No. 348 of 25 November 1997, the amount of money granted to St. Colman's community college climbing club in Midleton, County Cork, by the previous Government; the reasons this money has not been paid to date; the documentation, if any, still outstanding from the club; when his Department will pay this grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13528/98]

A grant of £3,000 was allocated to this group in 1997 under the sports capital programme. In line with standard procedures, payment of the grant is subject to the group providing specific documentation and information confirming that the development complies with the terms and conditions of the programme. My Department wrote to the group in January 1998 requesting this information relating to details of the actual proposed works and when it is submitted and found to be in order, payment will be made.
