Vol. 492 No. 2

Written Answers. - Library Projects.

Tony Gregory

Question:

120 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the time scale for the provision of funding to Dublin Corporation for the major city library complex for the Navan Road, Cabra, Dublin 7; the amount involved; and the completion date of the project. [13793/98]

Consideration of revised drawings and cost estimates for stage 2 of the library complex at Navan Road, Cabra, is at an advanced stage and I expect to be in a position to make a decision shortly. The current estimated cost of the project is approximately £3.4 million. Stage 3 of the project will be for Dublin Corporation to seek tenders for the work. An agreed budget for the project will be set when tenders have been received. It is not possible, at this stage, to estimate how long the procurement and construction stages will take.
