Vol. 493 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Michael D. Higgins

Question:

236 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will establish that the value 5 mg kg [-1] Morgan's P should be adopted in the REP scheme programme and also in the proposed farm guidelines on pollution control and in the BATNEEC proposals in relation to pig and poultry. [16242/98]

In the REP scheme, the upper limit on the Morgan's P Scale for grasslands is 10mg/litre and in the BATNEEC standard for intensive enterprises is 15mg/litre. I have no plans to change these.
