177 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 78 of 22 October 1998, the basis on which the capitation rate of 60 per cent has been calculated; and if the cost of maintaining a pupil is £133 in these schools. [22238/98]

The reference to 60 per cent in the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 78 of 22 October 1998 was intended to convey the fact that the additional capitation grant of £30 to a primary school designated as disadvantaged represents 60 per cent of the standard capitation rate of £50.
