Vol. 497 No. 2

Written Answers - Garda Stations.

David Stanton

Question:

210 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Finance the progress, if any, made to date regarding the provision of a new Garda barracks in Cobh, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24663/98]

My office has agreed the principal terms with CIE in respect of the purchase of a site at Cobh railway station. This site will be used for the building of a new Garda divisional headquarters. Contracts for sale have been received by my office and the normal legal process between both parties has already commenced. It is hoped to complete the sale as soon as possible.
